General Dentistry

Comprehensive Examination

This is usually the very first appointment.  Examination will include, X rays (full mouth x ray, or panoramic x ray), intraoral photos, and consultation in which will address your overall oral health.

Prophylaxis

We often call this “regular cleaning”.  The purpose of this procedure is to remove excessive amount of plagues build up, and checking patient’s gum condition.  Through the regular cleaning, we can obtain more information regarding patient’s overall oral health.  The appointment is usually scheduled around 6 months apart so we can monitor the condition closely.

Sealers

Sealers are usually applied to patients who are between ages 6 to 12.  They are the patients who have mixture of adult teeth and baby teeth.  Dental sealant is a thin, plastic coating painted on the chewing surfaces of teeth -- usually the back teeth (the premolars and molars) -- to prevent tooth decay. The sealant quickly bonds into the depressions and grooves of the teeth, forming a protective shield over the enamel of each tooth.

Fluorine application

At Maranatha Dental Practice, we believe in topical Fluoride.  Fluoride can greatly help dental health by strengthening the tooth enamel, making it more resistant to tooth decay. It also reduces the amount of acid that the bacteria on your teeth produce.  We usually suggest this procedure to patients between age 6-12.

Crowns and Bridges

A crown is an artificial replacement of the upper part of the tooth, to restore the function and look of the damaged tooth, weakened by a fracture or a large filling. Crowns can be made from several different kinds of materials, and based on location, esthetics, and cost, the right one to repair your damaged tooth can be selected. The loss of one or more teeth due to decay or an accident, changes the look of your smile, your bite, and puts stress on surrounding teeth to compensate for the lost tooth. One option for replacing the lost tooth is to use a bridge. The missing tooth is replaced with an artificial tooth connected between two crowns (caps), which are permanently cemented or bonded on the adjacent teeth.

Cosmetic Dentistry

At Maranatha Dental Practice, we also provide various options for Cosmetic dentistry.  Not only will we provide services that improve your dental health, more importantly, give you the confidence to smile!

What causes our teeth to darken?  Many common habits such as drinking coffee, tea, cola and red wine or smoking causes stains to appear on the teeth. Aging process also contributes to staining and darkening of your teeth.

TEETH WHITENING SERVICE

At Maranatha, we offer both in house and take home whiting treatment.  Zoom is our most advanced in house treatment.  It provides a safe and effective way to whiten your teeth in a short period of time.  We also provide custom trays for our patients who choose to bleach their own teeth at home.

Veneer

Dental veneers (sometimes called porcelain veneers or dental porcelain laminates) are wafer-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve your appearance. These shells are bonded to the front of the teeth changing their color, shape, size, or length.

Dental veneers can be made from porcelain or from resin composite materials. Porcelain veneers resist stains better than resin veneers and better mimic the light reflecting properties of natural teeth. You will need to discuss the best choice of veneer material for you with your dentist.

Implant Dentistry

A dental implant (also known as an endosseous implant or fixture) is a surgical component that interfaces with the bone of the jaw or skull to support a dental prosthesis such as a crown, bridge, denture, facial prosthesis or to act as an orthodontic anchor.  It is one of most recommended way to restore missing teeth.  At our office, we have our own dental implant specialist treat our patients and sometimes in more complicated cases, we work with our referral Oral surgeon to accomplish patient’s need.
